this is an ancient arrangement of the heavenly bodies that places them in order of their perceived distance from the earth. it the basis of the names of the days of the week- each corresponding to a god or principle of the human psyche. I was meditating on this last night and I discovered that this could well correspond to the stages in a human lifetime- each planet representing approximately a decade of life. as above so below.

birth= the earth (the mother)
0-10= the moon (the emotional bond with the mother, etc)
11-20= mercury (gathering of intelligence and the art of communication)
21-30= venus (focusing on love and the appreciation of beauty)
31-40= the sun (coming into our solar nature, discovery of our true self)
41-50= mars (taking action based on our true solar nature)
51-60= jupiter (allowing the action to expand organically)
61-70= saturn (understanding and perspective- a looking back and a letting go)
death= the zodiac (return to the stars)

the Sun needs to be properly placed at the end of the sequence, and the outer Planets added.
Otherwise you may be on to something.

no, I think the sun belongs in the center, much like the heart chakra sits at the center.

as for the outer/modern planets- they remain unseen (at least with the naked eye) and therefore seem to pertain to a higher octave/another dimension- the so called "after-life"?

nah, you are living in the old system. there is no afterlife. it is all present now or not at all. and if the Sun were closer to Earth than Mars, we would all be dead already.

Sun is the final stage in the journey of consciousness, stands to reason, since it is a Star and not a Planet. We can connect to it at that mid point of life, that sounds about right. But to embody it would be to be translated from organic matter of planet to the inorganic matter of plasma?

well depending on where earth and mars are in their respective orbits they could be as close as 30 million miles or as far as 400 million miles apart. it would seem that the average distance would be greater than the 93 million miles between the earth and sun (also an average). the order is also based on periods of orbit- the moon having the shortest period, then Mercury and so on. and you might have noticed that I put the after-life in quotes- after surrendering the personal self?
